Baby Dreams Doula Service mission is to nurture and support families from pregnancy through parenting. Honoring the families informed choices they have chosen for their birth. The selection of a Doula should not be made without care. The person your family selects for support should be one that you have a conection with, this may take several interviews, conversations or meetings with several Doulas. A Doula should always be honored to be present at a birth and respectful of your birth choices and support that process. I offer a wide variety of services including: Birth Doula ~ Postpartum Doula ~ Childbirth Education Classes ~ Attachment Parenting Support ~ Breastfeeding Education and Support ~ Belly Casting.

Who Relies on a Doula?
Childbearing families, midwives, physicians, labor and delivery nurses appreciate the support a Doula provides. Today's maternity care is provided by unfamiliar caregivers and nurses. Obstetric care relies on technology and can be complex and confusing so parents are once again turning for help to reassuring experienced companions. Recent Studies indicate that Doulas:
* Decrease the over all cesarean rate by 50 percent
* Decrease the length of labor by 25 percent
* Decrease the request for epidural by 60% percent
* Helps Fathers participate with confidence
* Increased success in breastfeeding

A Little About Brenda Northup?
I have supported families for many years, in birthing, breastfeeding and parenting. I respect each woman's right to choose where and how she gives birth. I have attended homebirths, birthing center births and hospital births. It is a great privilage to be a part of bringing a new life into the world. I am always thrilled to help families realize their own Baby Dreams. I am married and the mother of seven wonderful children. I received training through ALACE (Association for Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators), La Leche League, WIC, and Couple to Couple League. I serve Families in Palm Beach County Florida. The newest addition to our family pictured to the right. Ryan Quinn was born January 4th 2008. Our family is now complete! Well we thought.......Our new newest addition to our family is Dwain Northup Jr. who joined our family March 18th 2010 after the death of his mom and dad (my Brother-inlaw and his wife). Dwain is now six years old and has adjusted really well with his new family. He is no longer an only child and is also a big brother to Ryan. Please see our new photos.
